Is a student Read, Deed, Run participate in an afterschool program over a period of 25 weeks. Participants are required to run a marathon worth of miles, read a marathon worth of books and do a marathon worth of good deeds in the community. The program is concluded with a 1.2-mile race.

In addition, Read, Deed, Run teachers led by example by participating in the Houston Marathon. In the past teachers Angel Bateman, Courtney Calfee, Cecilia Escalona, Mindy Nash, and Nicole Walker completed either the half or the whole marathon.

Read, Deed, Run students in the past sent care packages to soldiers currently serving in Afghanistan.
